Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American presenter and actress. Vergara was America's highest-paid actress from 2013 to 2020. Vergara gained prominence hosting two television shows in Spanish for Univision in late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's first major acting project in English. The following year, she appeared in Four Brothers (2005) and Tyler Perry's comedy Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009) with an ALMA Award nomination for the later. The first time she appeared was as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC's comedy show Modern Family, for which she received nominations for four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards and eleven Screen Actor Guild Awards. The voice-overs she did were Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also the highest paid Hollywood actress in 2020[citation required]. Vergara is a judge on America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was the daughter of an Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. Vergara's mom Margarita Vergara De Vergara worked as a domestic worker, and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo worked as a cattle rancher in the meat industry. Vergara was referred to as "Toti" by her five siblings and many cousins. Vergara was an undergraduate at National University of Colombia in dentistry. Then she quit after two semesters to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
