Morgan was born July 2, 1989 to Pamela Morgan and Michael Morgan. She and her sisters Jeni and Jeri were raised in Diamond Bar, Los Angeles. Morgan played many sports throughout her youth, but did not favor soccer until the age of 14. She then became a member of the Cypress Elite club team, winning the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship and finishing in third in the bracket for under-19 players. Morgan continued to hone her soccer skills at Diamond Bar High School. Morgan was named an All-American Athlete by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). She also participated in the Olympic Development Division's state and regional divisions. Morgan continued her career in soccer at UC Berkeley where she was the California Golden Bears' leading scorer from the beginning of her season.
